Harriet Tubman In Social Studies I researched a runaway slaved named, Harriet Tubman. After her escape she operated the Underground Railroad System for other escapees. After a lot of successful attempts from the South to the North she had a bounty on her so she had to flee to Canada for a few years. After awhile when she returned to America she was a spy in the Civil War. After the North win in 1861 she lived her life in peace till the day of her death in 10 March 1913. Slave Trade Triangle My Map What is the Slave Trade Triangle? The slave trade triangle is where ships from Europe would trade guns with people from Africans from their captured people. Then the Africans were shipped to Americans to the Caribbean then to America. Once in America they would be treated horribly and forced to pick cotton and tobacco then all the goods are shipped to Europe. What is the First Passage? This was the ship to Africa, which held cargo such as guns and weapons. What is the Middle Passage? Where the Africans were shipped to the Caribbean to be sold for a ship load of tobacco and cotton. What is the Third Passage?  All the tobacco and cotton picked in America from the slaves was then shipped to Europe.

I feel like these songs sound so happy, but there's a long depressing history behind them. 2. What kind of information about slavery did you learn from these songs? That to be able to work well during the tell and to make the day go faster is to sing. 3. What can you relate to in any of these songs? That when you listen to music or sing it makes the day go faster, that's why I listen to music at school. 4. What do you think the slaves are talking about in these songs? How horrible their life is, they are singing about trying to stay happy. They are reflecting on how they are mistreated.

English 13/2/18 In English we have been learning to use Piktochart to create a slide about us. On the slide we put interesting facts about us and what we do outside of school.

In Social Studies we have been learning about Human Rights. We learnt about the different rights in different countries. We also have been learning about a child slave named Iqbal, and a woman sticking up for woman's education, I researched about how they had their Human Rights taken away.
